The victory of Qadisiyyah heralded the downfall of the Sasanian Dynasty, paved the way for the conquest of Iraq and quickened Islamic expansion into Persia (Iran) and beyond. The Iranians had 240,000 troops, but the Muslims with about 30,000 soldiers still drove the Iranian Empire, one of the superpowers of the day, into the ground. At Al-Qadisiyyah, the Muslims were able to break the Persian might, dealing them a blow from which they would never recover. The Battle of Al-Qadisiyyah is therefore one of the most decisive battles in the history of humanity. -

Marriage as prescribed by God, is the lawful union of a man and women based on mutual consent. Ideally, the purpose of marriage is to foster a state of tranquillity, love and compassion in Islam, but this is not always the case. Islam discourages divorce but, unlike some religions, does make provisions for divorce by either party. God provides general guidelines for the process of divorce with emphasis throughout on both parties upholding the values of justice and kindness in formalizing the end to their marriage (see Surah 2: 224-237 for general guidelines regarding divorce). یہ ایسی دو صاحبِ ایمان خواتین کی کاوش ہے، جو دنیا کے سب سے ترقی یافتہ ملک میں پیدا ہوئیں، وہیں بڑھی پلیں اور مروّجہ تعلیمی نظام سے مستفید ہوئیں۔ انھوں نے اپنے گردوپیش کے حالات بچشم خود دیکھے، نہایت قریب سے انھیں محسوس کیا اور ان عورتوں کو بھی دیکھا جنہیں بظاہر بڑی `آزادیاں` حاصل ہیں۔ مگر یہ سب کچھ آزادیوں کے نام پردیا گیا ایک دھوکہ ہے۔ مرد شادی تو ایک ہی کرتا ہے، مگر معاشرتی اسقام اور دانستہ کھلے چھوڑے گئے چور دروازوں سے اپنی ہوسناکیوں کی تسکین کرتا رہتا ہے۔ اسلام اور مثالی اسلامی معاشرہ چونکہ کوئی چور دروازہ نہیں چھوڑتا، اور حدود کو پھلانگنے والوں کے لیے حد اور تعزیزر کا اپنا نظام رکھتا ہے، اس لیے اس نے مرد کے ذوقِ تنّوع اور دیگر حقیقی ضرورتوں کو درونِ خانہ ہی پوری کرنے کا بندوبست کیا ہے، اسی کو تعدّ اد ازواج سے تعبیر کیا جاتا ہے۔ مگر ایک بیوی بلعموم دوسری بیوی کو برداشت نہیں کرتی، اسے سوکن قرار دے کر اپنی روایتی حریف سمجھتی ہے۔ مصنفات کتاب ہذا نے سوکن کے مروّجہ مفہوم کے حوالے سے پھیلی ہوئی غلط فہمیاں دور کی ہیں اور اس تجربے میں سے بسلامت گزر کر ثابت کر دکھایا ہے کہ اسلام نے جب تعدّ اد ازواج کی اجازت دی ہے تو اس نے اس سے عہدہ برآ ہونے کی تدابیر بھی بتائی ہیں۔ وہ تدابیر کیا ہیں؟ اس سے آگہی کے لیے ان خواتین کی اس کاوش سے آگاہ ہونا بہت ضروری ہے۔ اُمید ہے کہ ہماری بہنیں اور بیٹیاں اس کو نہایت دلچسپ کتاب پائیں گی۔ -
