This is the fourth book in studying the reign of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. It relates the life of the Leader of the Believers, `Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, from birth until his martyrdom. The book relates with detail how he came to Islam and his most important actions in Makkah, his migration to Madinah, his life in Madinah, his campaigns and battles alongside the Messenger of Allah, his life during the era of Rightly Guided Caliphs and his swearing of allegiance and his period of Caliphate. It also discusses the internal problems that `Ali faced during his reign. It goes on to mention the events that led to the Battle of the Camel, and how all the parties involved are free from any fault. Afterwards, the events of the Battle of Siffeen are mentioned, along with the relationship between `Ali and Mu`aawiyah. The book sheds light on the fallacies that are held by some deviant groups about these events and their distortion of historical truths. -

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah is one of the greatest scholars and reformers in Islamic history, which emerged at time of great turmoil and confusion to call the Muslims to return to the path of Quran and Sunnah, the path of the prophet (SAWW) and the early generations of this Ummah (Salaf). Ibn Taymiyyah wrote many books, often under the most difficult of circumstances, that describe the path of the salaf and discuss the arguments of Muslims philosophers and of the Baatini and Raafidi groups, pointing out the flaws therein. چونکہ بہت سے مسلمان عربی زبان نہیں جانتے اور نہ ہی اُنہیں زندگی میں باقاعدہ عربی سیکھنے کا موقعہ ملتا ہے، اسی لیے وہ مختلف تراجم کی طرف رخ کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن ترجموں میں بھی بہت سی مشکلات کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ اسی لیے یہ ڈکشنری ترتیب دی گئی ہے کہ قاری کسی بھی مشکل لفظ کا با آسانی معنی جان سکے اور اپنے علم کی پیاس بجھی۔ Since the majority of the followers of Islam are not native speakers of Arabic, and many of them may not have the chance to learn it properly, translation has been resorted to, and however incomplete it may be. But even good translator always finds it difficult to translate the special terms from Arabic. A cursory look at the translation of various Islamic works would reveal the discrepancies between the Arabic text and its translation, on one hand, and the different renderings of the same Arabic terms by different translators or even by the same translator at different times. This dictionary is the solution to these problems.a

Every Prophet had a miracle which he showed to his people and challenged them with. The framework for this advice is provided by the advice of the Prophet (S) to Mu`aadh ibn Jabal (R): `O Mu`aadh, fear Allah wherever you are, and follow up a bad deed with a good one and it will wipe it out and behave well towards people.` (Tirimidhee) The advice contained in this book covers what would make one attain the good of this world and the hereafter Insha Allaah. Other than being a discourse of how a servant can remain attached to his Lord, the advice contained in this book also focuses on the interpersonal relationship between human beings (i.e. being good to others by giving them their rights, being just to them etc). Book 2 - O My Son! (The Advice of Luqmaan) One of the duties parents owes their children is to guide them aright by educating them. They are obligated to correct their children`s errors and most importantly guide them to live a life that is pleasing to Allaah (Azawajal) by teaching them the means of achieving that. To assist the parents in discharging these responsibilities, Allaah (A) gave clear guidance in the Qur`an. He gave us the example of a dutiful father-Luqman and the advice he gave to his son: `And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: `0 my son! Join not in worship others with Allaah. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allaah is a great Zulm (injustice) indeed.` (Luqmaan [311: 13) Our success as parents is determined largely by how well we are able to discharge those responsibilities Allaah O has placed on us regarding our children. This book explains different aspects of the advice of Luqmaan to his son and its significance for a successful life. Book 3 - Do not Become Angry Much of the flaws that afflict the individual and the community stem from the singular defect of Anger. Allaah (j) and His Messenger (S) have given us instructions regarding the malady and advised us to keep it in check. This work is an extensive discussion of these instructions. We hope that this concise work will aid the one who is afflicted with this flaw to find a cure in, insha Allaah; while the one who is free of it will find enough incentives to keep his emotions under control. Book 4 - Guard the Tongue How many people have earned the wrath of Allaah as a result of misuse of their tongues? How many injuries that may never heal have been inflicted through the careless slips of the tongue? The Messenger of Allaah (S) said: `Indeed, the servant will speak words that are pleasing to Allaah, due to which he will be given a condition in which Allaah will raise him many levels. And indeed, the servant will speak words that are displeasing to Allaah, due to which he will not be given a good condition, but (instead) be thrown into the Hellfire.` (Bukhaaree) This book highlights those sins that seem so light on the tongue yet so grave on the scale and offers practical advice on how to keep the tongue in check. Book 5 - Be patient and Paradise will be Yours After eemaan (faith), the most honorable trait with which man could be endowed is patience. It is the best course of action in all situations. It is a cause for Allaah`s mercy and helps. It is a source of spiritual joy. The final victory in both matters of the world and Hereafter is only earned by patients and the good end beings only to the patient ones. Our trials in this world are numerous and varied. Sometimes, they come as difficulties and some other times in forms of ease. Situations that life turns on us sometimes could stretch our will and faith to the extreme. In all situations, patience and eemaan remain our most valued companions for the Prophet (S) said: `Whoever remains patient, Allaah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience.` (Bukhaaree) This book is a discussion of patience and how to develop that trait so that we might be a recipient of one of Allaah`s greatest blessings. Book 6 - Rizq and Lawful Earning Narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab (R), the Prophet (S) said: `If you put your faith completely in Allaah, He will arrange for your sustenance in the same way as he provides for the bird. (See Al-Araaf [7]: 12). Envy is also one of the commonest sins on earth! It is the deadly disease of the heart that destroys personal as well as communal relationships! ENVY: its causes, its effects and how to deal with it, is the subject of this small but beneficial book. May the one Who is afflicted with this disease fine cure in the prescription contained in this book. صحیح مسلم امام کی مرتب کردہ شہرہ آفاق مجموعہء احادیث ہے جو کہ صحاح ستہ کی چھ مشہور کتابوں میں سے ایک ہے۔ امام بخاری کی صحیح بخاری کے بعد دوسرے نمبر پر سب سے مستند کتاب ہے۔امام مسلم کا پورا نام ابوالحسین مسلم بن الحجاج بن مسلم القشیری ہے ۔ 202ھ میں ایران کے شہر نیشاپور میں پیدا ہوئے اور 261ھ میں نیشاپور میں ہی وفات پائی۔ انہوں نے مستند احادیث جمع کرنے کے لئے عرب علاقوں بشمول عراق، شام اور مصر کا سفر کیا۔ انہوں نے تقریباًتین لاکھ احادیث اکٹھی کیں لیکن ان میں سے صرف7563 احادیث صحیح مسلم میں شامل کیں کیونکہ انہوں نے حدیث کے مستند ہونےکی بہت سخت شرائط رکھی ہوئی تھیں تا کہ کتاب میں صرف اور صرف مستند ترین احادیث جمع ہو سکیں۔ صحیح مسلم کی اہمیت کے پیش نظر صحیح بخاری کی طرح اس کی بہت زیادہ شروحات لکھی گئیں۔ عربی زبان میں لکھی گئی شروحات ِ صحیح مسلم میں امام نوویکی شرح نووی کو امتیازی مقام حاصل ہے ۔پاک وہند میں بھی کئی اہل علم نے عربی واردو زبان میں اس کی شروحات وحواشی لکھے ۔عربی زبان میں نواب صدیق حسن خاںاور اردو میں علامہ وحید الزمان کا ترجمہ قابل ذکر ہے اورطویل عرصہ سے یہی ترجمہ متداول ہے لیکن اب اس کی زبان کافی پرانی ہوگئی ہے اس لیے ایک عرصے سےیہ ضرورت محسوس کی جارہی ہے تھی کااردو زبان کے جدید اسلوب میں نئے سرے سے کتب ستہ کے ترجمے کرکے شائع کیے جائیں۔ماشاء اللہ یہ سعادت اور شرف دار السلام کو حاصل ہوا کہ انہوں نے مذکوروہ ضرورتوں کااحساس کرتے ہوئے ایک صدی کے بعد نئےسرے سےکتب ستہ کے تراجم وفوائد اردوزبان کے جدید اور معیاری اسلوب میں کراکر ان کو طباعت کے اعلی معیارپر شائع کرنے کا پروگرام بنایا ۔ تاکہ قارئین کے لیے ان کا مطالعہ اور ان سے استفادہ آسان ہوجائے اور یوں ان کا حلقۂ قارئین بھی زیادہ سے زیادہ وسیع ہوسکے کیونکہ ان تمام کاوشوں کا مقصد احادیث ِرسول کو زیادہ سے زیادہ لوگوں تک پہنچانا ہے ۔تحقیق وتخریج ،ترجمہ وفوائد سے مزین دار السلام کی چار کتابیں ( صحیح بخاری ،سنن ابو داؤد ،سنن ابن ماجہ،سنن نسائی) منظر عام آچکی ہیں ۔اور عنقریب صحیح بخاری کی مفصل اردو شرح بھی منظر عام پر آجائے گی ۔اور اسی طرح صحیح مسلم ترجمہ و مختصر فوائد کے ساتھ بھی اسی سلسلہ کی کڑی ہے صحیح مسلم کے ترجمہ کی تکمیل اور اس کی مفصل شرح کا کام ابھی جاری ہے ۔صحیح مسلم کا یہ ترجمہ ومختصر فوائد پروفیسر محمد یحییٰ جلالپوری ﷾ نےتحریرکیے ہیں۔اللہ تعالیٰ کتاب کی تیاری و طباعت میں شامل تمام احباب کی کاوشوں کو قبول فرمائے۔

ہر دور میں ائمہ دین نے کتاب اللہ کی تشریح وتوضیح کی خدمت سر انجام دی ہے تا کہ عوام الناس کے لیے اللہ کی کتاب کو سمجھنے میں کوئی مشکل اور رکاوٹ پیش نہ آئے۔ سلف صالحین ہی کے زمانہ ہی سے تفسیر قرآن، تفسیر بالماثور اور تفسیر بالرائے کے مناہج میں تقسیم ہو گئی تھی۔ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم ، تابعین عظام اور تبع تابعین رحمہم اللہ اجمعین کے زمانہ میں تفسیر بالماثور کو خوب اہمیت حاصل تھی اور تفسیر کی اصل قسم بھی اسے ہی شمار کیا جاتا تھا۔ تفسیر بالماثور کو تفسیر بالمنقول بھی کہتے ہیں کیونکہ اس میں کتاب اللہ کی تفسیر خود قرآن یا احادیث یا اقوال صحابہ یا اقوال تابعین و تبع تابعین سے کی جاتی ہے۔ بعض مفسرین اسرائیلیات کے ساتھ تفسیر کو بھی تفسیر بالماثور میں شامل کرتے ہیں کیونکہ یہ اہل کتاب سے نقل کی ایک صورت ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ ہمارے قدیم تفسیری ذخیرہ میں اسرائیلیات بہت زیادہ پائی جاتی ہیں۔امام ابن کثیر رحمہ اللہ متوفی ۷۷۴ھ کی اس تفسیر کا منہج بھی تفسیر بالماثور ہے۔ امام رحمہ اللہ نے کتاب اللہ کی تفسیر قرآن مجید، احادیث مباکہ، اقوال صحابہ وتابعین اور اسرائیلیات سے کی ہے اگرچہ بعض مقامات پر وہ تفسیر بالرائے بھی کرتے ہیں لیکن ایسا بہت کم ہے۔ تفسیر طبری ، تفسیر بالماثور کے منہج پر لکھی جانے والی پہلی بنیادی کتاب شمار ہوتی ہے۔ بعض اہل علم کا خیال ہے کہ تفسیر ابن کثیر ، تفسیر طبری کا خلاصہ ہے۔امام ابن کثیر رحمہ اللہ کی اس تفسیر کو تفسیر بالماثور ہونے کی وجہ سے ہر دور میں خواص وعوام میں مرجع و مصدر کی حیثیت حاصل رہی ہے اگرچہ امام رحمہ اللہ نے اپنی اس تفسیر میں بہت سی ضعیف اور موضوع روایات یا من گھڑت اسرائیلیات بھی نقل کر دی ہیں جیسا کہ قرون وسطیٰ کے مفسرین کا عمومی منہاج اور رویہ رہا ہے۔ ادارہ دارالسلام نے ’تفسیر ابن کثیر‘کے متعدد عربی ایڈیشن شائع کرنے کے بعد ’المصباح المنیر في تهذيب تفسیر ابن کثیر‘کے نام سے اس کی تہذیب شائع کی۔یہ کام مولانا صفی الرحمٰن مبارکپوری اور حافظ عبدالمتین راشد وغیرہم کی نگرانی میں انجام پایا۔ پھر ادارہ نے اسی تہذیب کو اردو قالب میں منتقل کرنے کا اہتمام کرایا جو اس وقت آپ کے کے سامنے ہے۔ اردو ترجمے کے فرائض مولانا محمد خالد سیف نے انجام دئیے ہیں۔ ترجمہ بہت عمدہ، سلیس اور دارالسلام کے معیار کے عین مطابق ہے۔ -
Generally regarded as the single most authentic collection of Ahadith, Sahih Al-Bukhari covers almost all aspects of life in providing proper guidance from the messenger of Allah (PBUH). Sahih Al-Bukhari is the work of over 16 years by Imam Bukhari who before writing any Hadith in this book performed two Rakat prayer of guidance from Allah and when he was sure of the Hadith`s authenticity, he wrote it in the book. Tremendous amounts of errors exist in the translations by other translators. بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم قرآن و حدیث کا دوسرا نام اسلام ہے۔ یہ ایک چیز کے دو نام ہیں قرآن کو حدیث سے جدا کیا جاسکتا ہے نہ حدیث کو قرآن سے۔ رسول اکرمe کے اقوال، افعال اور جو کام آپ کے سامنے ہوئے اور آپ نے ان کی تصدیق کی یا ان پر خاموشی اختیار کی ان کو محدثین کرام نے مستقل کتابوں کی صورت میں جمع کردیا۔ ان مجموعات میں سے حدیث و سنت کا معتبر ترین مجموعہ امام بخاری کی ’’الصحیح‘‘ ہے جسے عام زبان میں صحیح بخاری کہا جاتاہے۔ صحیح بخاری عربی زبان میں ہے۔ اس میں رسول اکرم کے اقوال و افعال کو صحیح سند کے ساتھ جمع کیا گیا ہے۔ دعوت اسلام پھیلنے کے ساتھ ساتھ آپ کے فرامین کے دوسری زبانوں میں تراجم کی شدید ضرورت محسوس ہوئی۔ مسلمانوں کا بُرا طبقہ اردو دان تھا۔ نواب صدیق حسن خانa نے اس کس شدید ضرورت کے پیش نظر اس کا اردو میں ترجمہ کرایا پھر کئی ایک ترجمے ہوئے جن میں سے مولانا داؤد راز کا ترجمہ اور تشریح کافی معروف ہوا۔ اردو زبان کیونکہ ارتقائی عمل سے گزرتی رہتی ہے اس لیے وقت گزرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ کئی الفاظ متروک ہوجاتے ہیں حدیث کے تراجم کے حوالے سے بھی یہ ضرورت محسوس کی جارہی تھی۔ دارالسلام نے اس کام کا بیڑہ اٹھایا۔ خصوصی طور پر بخاری شریف کی مفصل شرح ’’ہدایۃ القاری‘‘ کے نام سے شائع کی۔ اس کتاب کی خصوصیات درج ذیل ہیں۔ 1 اس شرح کو مکمل کرنے کے لیے مولانا مفتی عبد الستار حمادd نے سولہ سال شب و روز محنت کی۔ 2 پھر پانچ مختلف ریسرچرز نے اس کو رحف بہ حرف باری باری پڑھا۔ 3 پرانے الفاظ متروک کر دیے گئے ہیں۔ 4 آسان اور سلیس اردو میں بات سمجھانے کی پوری کوشش کی گئی ہے۔ 5 فوائد میں احادیث کی تخریج کے ساتھ ساتھ صحت و ضعف کا اہتمام کیا گیا ہے۔ 6 بامقصد تفصیل کا اہتمام کیا گیا ہے، بے جا طوالت سے گریز کیا گیا ہے۔ 7 ابواب اور ترجمۃ الباب کی تشریح کے لیے ’’وضاحت‘‘ کے نام سے مستقل عنوان قائم کیا گیا ہے۔ 8 بظاہر متعارض احادیث کی تطبیق کا التزام کیا گیا ہے۔ 9 مسلکی تعصب سے ہٹ کر خالص کتاب و سنت کی سلف کے منہج کے مطابق ترجمانی کی کوشش کی گئی ہے۔ 0 گاہے گاہے جدید مسائل کا حل بھی پیش کردیا گیا ہے۔ ! احادیث رسول کو شکوک قرار دینے کی مذموم کوششوں کا رد بھی آپ کو فوائد و مسائل میں جگہ جگہ دیکھنے کو ملے گا۔ @ ترجمہ عام فہم اور زبان نہایت سادہ ہے۔ امید ہے قارئین کے لیے یہ کتاب نور ہدایت ثابت ہوگی۔ اللہ تعالیٰ مؤلف، شارح، ناشر اور دیگر معاونین سب کی مساعی جمیلہ کو قبول کر اس کتاب کو امت کی ہدایت کا ذریعہ بنائے۔
